You have two
choices to get to San Luis Pass: Highway 288 S. or Interstate
45 S.
FROM THE WEST -
take Highway 288 South to Highway 332 East. Follow 332
East over the intracoastal waterway into Surfside. Left at the
light (Bluewater Highway). Follow Bluewater approximately 12
miles. Just before you enter the Toll Bridge, veer off the
highway as if you were going to the San Luis Pass Fishing
Pier. Our house is the first house on the right, on the Pier
road (Gulf Beach Drive, but there is no street
sign).
FROM THE EAST -
take I-45 South to Galveston. Exit 61st Street. Follow
61st Street to the water (Seawall Blvd.). Right on
Seawall. Follow Seawall approximately 21 miles to the Toll
Bridge ($2.00). Cross Toll Bridge. Immediately as you
reach the opposite side of the Bridge, you will make a horseshoe
turn onto the unpaved road as if you were going to the San Luis Pass
Fishing Pier. Our house is the first house on the right, on
the Pier road (Gulf Beach Drive, but there is no street
sign).

The
beach area parallel with Toll Bridge (across from our house) is
primarily used for beachcombing, sunbathing and fishing.
As with all waters in areas of bridges, this area has strong
currents which make it hazardous for swimming but advantageous for
shore fishing. The
beach at the south end of Jolly
Roger Drive (easy walk or drive) is ideal for all of your
favorite beach activities: swimming, playing,
surfing, boogie boarding, fishing, building sandcastles,
etc. Bonfires and campfires are allowed on the beach, but
please use extreme caution and ensure they are thoroughly
extinguished before leaving.
